Encouraging support for Sisil and Roshan in 2nd week The leaders - Sisil de Silva of St. Benedict's College and Roshan Abeyratne of St. Anne's Kurunegala received encouraging support to forge ahead in the Observer-Bata Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year - All Island and Outstation Contests at the end of the second week's voting. In the All-Island Contest, Sisil de Silva had a total of 399 votes at the end of the second week's voting to head the list, with last year's Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year Cambrian Sahan Wijeratne getting into second place with 88 votes from the third place he occupied in the first week. Avanka Peiris of Trinity who was second drops one place down with 79 votes. In the Outstation Contest, Roshan Abeyratne was the leader last week and he keeps the lead for the second successive week, totalling 363 votes, while Upul Tharanga of Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda, Senarath Dushantha of Sri Sumangala, Panadura and Inshaff Razik of Azhar College, Akurana in second, third and fourth place respectively getting just a handful of votes. |
