IOC second among Asia Pacific oil companies

New Delhi - Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, the largest commercial enterprise in India, has been ranked second among national oil companies in petroleum trading in the Asia Pacific region.

As per the 2002 Industry Perception Survey conducted by Applied Trading Systems (ATS), Singapore, IndianOil has been placed among the top five national oil companies after ENOC of the United Arab Emirates and ahead of Petronas (Malaysia), KPC (Kuwait) and China Aviation.

The ATS survey covered 74 companies across the entire spectrum of petroleum companies operating in the Asia Pacific region. The perception of over 100 companies was sought to arrive at the ranking of the companies surveyed.

IndianOil, the only Fortune 'Global 500' oil major in India, has been a consistent performer and has figured prominently among national oil companies in the Asia Pacific in surveys conducted by ATS during the last three years. As part of its initiatives to align trading systems with international practices, IndianOil is in the process of setting up an Oil Trading and Risk Management Desk.
