Lanka to showcase Pakistani products Sri Lanka has been selected as one of the 10 global destinations to set up display cum supply centres for Pakistani products. This was revealed when a delegation from the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry led by its former President Tariq Sayeed met Commerce and Consumer Affairs Minister Ravi Karunanayake recently. Sayeed, a veteran business leader in Pakistan, said that Kenya and Poland have also been selected to launch the project, hopefully before the end of this year. He also emphasised the importance of active participation of the private sector in the ongoing negotiations for the Sri Lanka - Pakistan Free Trade Agreement. Sayeed, an international trade fair organiser, suggested that Sri Lankan trade fair organisers should get the accreditation of Union of Fairs International, the accreditation body for international standard trade fairs. |
