Musical success in Nuwara Eliya

Holidaymakers in Nuwara Eliya were treated to a night of enjoyable music by Nalin and the Star Combination, the featured band at the exclusive Golf Club Dance. "It was a good holiday season this year with more holidaymakers in Nuwara Eliya.

This year there were different attractions - dances, concerts, horse races, fashion shows - and the dance at the Golf Club went on till dawn", comments Nalin who will be back playing his regular dates at the Galadari Hotel on Sundays and at the other many private functions undertaken by him.

Nalin and the Star Combination have been on the music scene for quite some time and with their wide repertoire of Western and Sri Lankan music wer in action at the Royal Golf Club on April 27, at their Club Night.

The band is also featured on Fridays at the CR & FC and are a regular at all functions at the Colombo Swimming Club. As part of their future programme Nalin tells us that he has completed laying down the tracks for their CD and is busy making plans for the marketing of the album.

The songs are love songs and ballads, originals in Sinhala. Some of them are the popular songs Shermila sang with her father C. D. Fonseka. These tracks have been re-arranged in a western-oriental idiom, to suit today's market industry. Watch out for the launch.
