Fifth International Budo-Camp starts tomorrow The 5th International Budo-Camp will be held from 2nd of June till 8th of June in Blue Oceanic Beach Hotel Negombo. A Budo-Camp is a training camp where different martial arts styles come together, train together and learn form each other. Instructors train with students and students with instructors. Martial artists from 5 different countries - Sri Lanka, Germany, Switzerland, Canada and Croatia will take part in the one week training course, held by international recognized instructors from Sri Lanka, Germany and Switzerland. For 5th International Budo-Camp the chief organiser and chairman of International Budosport-events. Olaf Van Ellen from Germany could get these international instructors in leading martial arts disciplines as follows; Angan Pora, Anti-Terrorkampf (ATK), Amis, Chinadi, Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Karate, Kobudo, Kuatsu, Kung Fu, Muay, Thai, Sheng Shan Wu, Taekwondo, Wushu and more. These instructors and a crowd of 130 participants from all participating countries of different Martial Arts styles. The opening ceremony will be held on Monday 2nd of June at 9.30 a.m. at Blue Ocenaic Beach Hotel. The chief guest will be the Minister of Tourism Gamini Lokuge. The guests of honour will be Jeyaraj Fernandopulle MP (the former Minister of Tourism and Aviation) and Newton Fernando the, Mayor of Negombo. The programme of this opening ceremony will end with an exhibition of different martial arts styles. After the training program the foreign guests will go on a roundtrip through the country to see and learn from the culture in Sri Lanka. This year's Budo-Camp will be under the sign of Sports tourism-development in Sri Lanka which tries to bring different sports groups to the country to use the excellent conditions for different sports as martial arts, soccer, golf, volleyball, beach volleyball, cricket and all other possible sports in Sri Lanka. Sports tourism-development is supported by Mr. Mervyn Fernandopulle, chairman of Airwing Tours, former national player who will also handle all other sports tourism and martial arts groups to Sri Lanka. To promote the idea of sports tourism-development, especially the idea of a combination of a martial arts training week with roundtrips and sightseeing, the international group is guided by international journalists of different German, Swiss, Canadian and French magazines. |
