Deanna plans another concert

Following the success of her two concerts "Deanna and Singers" held in 2001 and 2002 at the Mahaweli Reach Hotel in Kandy, Deanna Abeyrathna is now in the throes of getting her third concert on track for the performance date September 13 at the same venue.

Now a student of Maureen Downall, Deanna is preparing for her final Diploma in Pianoforte conducted by the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music. A winner of many awards for singing and choral singing of the Guildhall Schools of Music, Deanna has extended her talent to be the present Choir Mistress and Organist of St. Anthony's Cathedral, Kandy.

Three years ago when she started her own school for singers, Deanna's path was not a bed of roses. Yet, dedication in her job and enthusiasm has brought her success and she carries on the laudable task of guiding her students to perfection.
