Dialog GSM sponsors National Sports Festival for Disabled The 7th National Sports Festival for Disabled will be held from July 1 to August 27 at different venues and the finals will be worked off at the Sugathadasa Stadium. This will be the third Dialog GSM sponsorship in the 7-year history of the annual games. The annual National Sports Festival for the Disabled 2003 are held to encourage and promote talented athletes who have been handicapped by disability and to encourage so that they will continue to be in the sports. The National Sports Festival for the Disabled take in many sporting events like track and field, weightlifting, amputee soccer, wheelchair marathon and marksmanship to name a few. Maj. Rajitha Ampemohotti, the President of National Federation of Sports for the Disabled said that the NFSD is thankful to Dialog GSM for their great support. Dialog GSM sponsorship package is 1.5 million for this year's event. Dr. Hans Wijesuriya, Chief Executive Officer of Dialog GSM said that the company would continue to support them in the future too. It is a duty towards the nation. Nushad Perera, General Manager, Sales and Marketing, Dialog GSM said that they had no hesitation whatsoever to help this worthy cause for which both the government and private sector have stayed away from offering sponsorships.
