High riding Kandy S.C. should win again

by Kandy Sports Corr.

High riding and unbeaten Kandy Sports Club will have things much to their liking when they take on CR and FC in their return clash of the Caltex League inter-club rugby tournament match to be played at the Nittawela Stadium today July 20 at 5 p.m. Kandy Sports Club are heading the table of points for the Cup Championship and last week after the initial shivers went on to record an easy 37-13 win over Police Sports Club. CR and FC who are lying fifth in the table and out of running for championship honours lost to CH and FC 20-27. Kandy also won the first round match without much effort.

Kandy SC who go out favourites will go all out to post a win which will take them closer to the League title. Kandy has been playing well this season as in other years appear to be the strongest contenders for the league title with a clear six point lead over their closest rivals CH and FC. CR and FC, on the other hand, will have a daunting task if they are to overcome the Kandy team at Nittawela which has not been the favourite grounds for the visitors as they have suffered more losses here than in any other grounds.
