Army Inter-Unit athletic meet Sept 8 to 11

Sri Lanka Army inter-unit athletic championships organised by the Army Sports Control Board will be held on September 8, 9, 10 and 11 at the Sugathadasa Stadium. The meet will commence from 8.30 a.m. on all four days.

The four-day meet will attract men and women athletes from 23 regiments.

Several Army athletes who have represented the country at international meets, namely SAF Games, Asian Games, World Athletic Championships and the Olympics will be seen in action.

The Sri Lanka Army athletes who performed well at the recently concluded Grand Prix will also participate.

Earlier the 10,000 metres road race was held from Minipe junction to Panagoda Army camp on August 18 and Sri Lanka Army Artillery Regiment athletes won major honours.
