Delicious deal by Hiran H. Senewiratne Stassen Foods (SF), a subsidiary of the Stassen Group, has tied up with Delifrance, an upmarket restaurant in town, to supply food products. According to the agreement, Delifrance will purchase Rs 500,000 worth of Stassen products monthly. Delifrance is a France-based restaurant chain with its presence in many Asian and European countries. SF is the sole agent for many international brands such as Happy Cow cheese, Heinz ketchup, Berri fruit drinks and Luvaduck salmon. "We want to promote our international brands locally and give Sri Lankans the chance to experience them," said SF Director Food Raja Mendis. He said the company is also in the process of negotiating with other leading restaurants in Colombo for strategic alliances to supply SF products. SF, while promoting Stassen products, expects to sponsor all food promotions and food festivals organised by Delifrance, Mendis added. Mendis further said that the company has carved a niche market, and expects to increase sales by 10 to 15 per cent every year by promoting food-related events at Delifrance with this deal. SF Brand Manager Gajan Maheson said that all Stassen products will be available at Delifrance outlets including the outlet to be opened at Duplication Road on September 26. To attract the teenage crowd, the company is also sponsoring a monthly get-together under the name 'Thank God Its' on the last Friday of the month, he added. |
