The eagerly awaited school cricket fever will soon be upon us and a notable feature of the season will be the 125th anniversary of the Royal-Thomian encounters. To mark this event the two leading schools Royal and S. Thomas' have organised a joint walk which will be held on Saturday February 21, culminating in a gala musical show at the Royal College Sports Complex commencing 7 pm. Quite naturally old boys and present boys teachers and parents of both schools will come in droves to enjoy themselves to the limit. An old Thomian Sohan Weerasinghe and his popular band the X'periments will be in live action to perform as well as give musical backing to the many leading artistes who will be a big attraction that day. The show presented by Annesley Malawana and compered by Faizal Bongso will feature Annesley, Corinne, Ginger, Clifford Richards, Janaka Palapathwala - (The Elvis look-a-like), Rajiv Sebastian, Mariazelle Goonetilleke and Saliya Silva who displays an interesting imitation of Shaggy. Besides the singers the concert will include choreographed dance routines by Anushan and the EL Latino Dancers. This gala musical show is considered to be a fitting finale for the combined walk which will go down in the annals of Royal and S. Thomas. |
