'Sarana' Lottery to support recovery

The National Lotteries Board has introduced a brand new lottery, named 'Sarana National Lottery', with the intention of supporting the post-tsunami recovery.

Sri Lanka was one of the worst affected countries devastated by the tsunami tidal wave.

Two thirds of the Sri Lankan coastal belt was severely hit by the 26/12 dooms-day tsunami onslaught, which left thousands homeless, disarrayed, internally displaced, dead and uncounted.

The Sri Lankan economy has been shattered leaving the challenge of speedy recovery in order to rebuild the nation.

Hence, 'Financial ability' has become the most crucial component of post-disaster recovery.

In this context National Lotteries Board has introduced the 'Sarana National Lottery' dedicating its turnover to the national relief efforts.

The 'Sarana National Lottery', which has been prized for Rs. 20, is comprised with 5 numbers and the winning numbers should match in the same order that it appears on the ticket.

There are 40, first prizes each to the value of Rs. 500,000.
