Caltex Trophy Deaf Schools Netball May 28 The fourth deaf schools netball tournament organised by the Deaf School Past Pupils' Association, The School for the Deaf Ratmalana in collaboration with Sri Lanka Netball Federation will be held on Saturday 28th May 2005 at the National Youth Services Council, National Youth Centre, indoor stadium, Maharagama commencing at 9.00 a.m. and the final will be held the same evening followed by the awards ceremony. The tourney is sponsored by Caltex Lanka Limited for the fourth time. The champions will receive the Caltex Trophy with replicas and certificates to nine players while the runners-up will receive Caltex Trophy with replicas and certificates to nine players. There will be in addition, special awards for the Best Player and Best Shooter. Gifts will also be awarded to all the players. The reigning champions-The School for the Deaf, Ratmalana, hope to retain the champions trophy for fourth successive year. Sri Lanka's big day in netball has been made possible to the untiring efforts of a hard working team headed by Shivantha Vivekanandan who is President and Chairman-Organising Committee. Shivantha Vivekanandan said that the Caltex confirmed their commitment in sponsoring the Deaf schools sports activities for last three years from 2002 to 2004. He said that he was happy that the management of the Caltex extended their commitment in sponsoring the Deaf Schools Sports activities for another three years from 2005 to 2007. The tournament is open to all deaf schools free of charge. Entry forms can be obtained from Mr. K. T. T. Sumanadasa, Hony. Secretary, Deaf School Past Pupils' Association, The School for the Deaf, Ratmalana or Mrs. Marie Wijeyaratne (Principal) on 2636351 during school hours. Entries close on 6th May 2005.
