Black and
Decker powers tsunami aid
Delmege General Equipment, agent for Black and Decker power tools in Sri Lanka distributed Black and Decker and Dewalt Power tools to the value of Rs. 3 million among the tsunami affected in the Hambantota District recently. Product Manager of Dewalt Industrial Tools Dubai, Suresh Srinivasan was in Sri Lanka to distribute the tools on behalf of Black and Decker Dewalt. "This disaster has affected the local economy and the livelihood of the people and Black and Decker is committed to contributing towards long term rehabilitation and reconstruction", he said. The power tools will be distributed via the Hambantota Chamber of Commerce and through other Chambers of Commerce who have identified end users. Black and Decker will assist NGOs to build orphanages for displaced and homeless children, provide communities with tools to rebuild their homes and boats and restart small family businesses. The tools donated by Black and Decker will be used for woodwork, metal fabrication and civil construction. |
