Vigilant, Bosch tie up for alarm system

by Elmo Leonard

Vigilant Security and Investigation Services, claimed to be one of the first companies to offer asset protection solutions in Sri Lanka, last week, tied up with Bosch Security Systems; Bosch is a renowned German tradename. Resulting from the tie up, Vigilant launched their emergency monitoring and response services.

Comprising BOSCH equipment, this alarm system for the office and home covers five main emergency situations, being fire, panic, medical, hostage and burglary. Vigilant is now one of the few local security firms which deals with aspects of technology and manpower, its chairman, Felix Perumal said.

At the launch in Colombo, Bosch manager export, Chan Chow Wah (based in Singapore) said that his company carried out market research in Sri Lanka "and picked the best security company, being Vigilent."

The company's first 100 clients will be entitled to a draw and the winner will receive a return air ticket to Singapore.

The buildings of organisation or house to be monitored will be set up with wires and security equipment supplied by Bosch. The building will be constantly surveyed whether occupied or not.

The response team will make up professionals trained in fire-fighting, unarmed combat and basic medical expertise. Initially the service will be within Colombo and the immediate suburbs as the clients expect a response within minutes, managing director, Mario Perumal said.

The service comes in two packages, at Rs 13,500 for smaller offices or homes and Rs 23,500 for larger offices and homes. The monthly service charge will be Rs 2,500 plus VAT for residencies and Rs 3,500 for corporate. After three years the owner would retain ownership of the devices.

Bosch is a worldwude leader in technological innovation and development, closely associated with the automotive supplies and power tools, Wah said.
