SLRFU to discuss ways of improving game Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union (SLRFU) will conduct a Rugby Congress at the Trans Asia Hotel on December 3 for the purpose of discussing various matters and preparing a working document which could be used as a guideline in developing the Union and the game in Sri Lanka. The full day workshop besides other matters, will discuss long term and short term strategy, league tournament format, knock-out tournament, 7-a-side tournaments, tournament rules, women's rugby, youth rugby, sponsorship/finances, Provincial Unions, Referees Society, Schools Rugby Association, rugby grounds, job opportunities for school leavers and amendments to the constitution. Written proposals and suggestions will be accepted by the SLRFU and should reach the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dilroy Fernando, by tomorrow (Monday). These will be taken up and discussed during the Congress and selected members will be requested to present a paper on the proposed area of the subject. Among the invitees for the Rugby Congress will be all council members of the SLRFU, Life Members, past Presidents, sub Committee Chairman, Presidents/Secretaries of Provincial Unions, Presidents and Secretaries and Rugby Convenors of clubs, President/Secretary of Schools Association, Referees Society, sponsors and media personnel.
