CRC team in Chennai

Three outstanding oarsmen Mohamed Fatharally, Padma Priyan and Muditha Jayasingha of Colombo Rowing Club will row at the Amateur Rowing Association East (ARAE) Regatta in Chennai, India. The rowing started yesterday and will be continued today.

The ARAE was earlier scheduled to be held in December, but was postponed by the organisers - Madras Boat Club due to floods in Chennai.

The three CRC rowers will participate along wit oarsmen from 4 leading clubs in India, Pakistan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand.

Fatharally, Priyan and Jayasinghe will participate in single sculls and pairs. The finals of all events will be held today (Sunday).

Inaugural Regatta

The Opening Regatta in Sri Lanka for the year 2006 will be held on February 25 on the Beira Waters, Colombo Rowing Club.

According to Chanaka Wickremasooriya, captain of boats and coach of Colombo Rowing Club said that all leading rowers will participate.

The events to be worked off are: Sculls for Gordon Armstrong Trophy, Pairs for Vanlangenburg Trophy, Fours for HMS Enterprise Trophy, Ladies Novices Pairs and Ladies Junior Pairs.
