TULF Leader urges Prabakaran to accept federal solution The TULF Leader V. Anandasangaree has urged the LTTE Leader Velupillai Prabakaran to accept a federal solution to the ethnic problem instead of fighting for separation. In a letter to Prabakaran, Anandasangaree has stressed that the International Community was in full agreement to the proposal of a federal type of solution to the country's ethnic problem. "If you (Prabakaran) decide to accept this proposal I am confident that all political parties including the Maha Sangha will extend their fullest support," Anandasangaree noted in his letter. Citing the Indian model, the TULF Leader points out that such a model was neither a Federal nor Unitary in Constitution, but would be acceptable to the majority. In his letter, he has expressed optimism that if Prabakaran gives up separation, the JVP and the JHU too would rally round to support a federal type of a solution, adding that it was not too late for Prabakaran to accept a just solution to save his people. |
