16 swimmers for Asian schools meet

Sixteen Sri Lanka swimmers 8 boys and 8 girls will swim at the 2nd
Asian Schools Swimming Championships to be held from July 25 to August 1
at the Kawloon Park swimming pool in Hong Kong. The championships is
conducted by the Hong Kong Schools Swimming Federation with the
blessings from the Asian Amateur Swimming Association.
R.A. Kularatne, President SLSASA said that once the 16 swimmers are
selected the association will invite the parents for a meeting to
discuss tour arrangements.
All selected swimmers will have to pay for their air passage. The
organisers have informed the local authorities that accommodation will
be provided by them.
Chennai dual Aug. 17 to 20
Ms. Fonseka said that a separate trial to select swimmers for the 4th
Sri Lanka Schools and Chennai Age Group Swimming Championships will be
held immediately after the 'A' Level Examinations. The trial will be
held at the Nalanda College 25-metres swimming pool on June 23 and 24.
The duel will be held in Chennai from August 17 to 20 and Sri Lanka
Schools Aquatic Sports Association is invited by Justice P.S. Kailasam
Medical and Education Research Foundation, Chennai. All swimmers for the
dual will be from this foundation.
Sri Lanka Schools have won the 2002, 2003, and 2004 duals held in
Colombo twice and Chennai once. |
