Railway, CTB new time table

The Railway Department and the SLCTB expect to re-adjust transport time tables from August 1 following a discussion they had with private sector Employers Federations on Tuesday.

Accordingly, several private sector Employer Federations agreed to change office hours from 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on par with the state sector working hours.

Meanwhile, a few others who represented the meeting will give their decision within the next few days. Labour Relations and Foreign Employment Minister Athauda Seneviratne and Transport Minister A. H. M. Fowzie were present at the meeting, while Director General, Sri Lanka Employers Union Gotabaya Dassanayaka and Director General Sri Lanka Trade Bureau Prema Cooray represented the Private Sector.

Minister Fowzie said that the Department needed 10 additional train engines to provide a better service.
