Mummy mummy!

The UNP's undermining of the government that week was of epic proportions. First there was a rumour campaign that closed schools and almost brought the nation to a standstill. Then, there were the attacks on all fronts, on fuel prices, the economy etc.,

Getting Susantha Punchinilame into the government fold under these circumstances, seems to have been a minor transgression, if it can be viewed as one at all.

But guess what happened soon after the MP crossed over? Ranil Wickremesinghe no sooner he heard the news, went crying to mummy.

Who was mom? She was in the form of the Indian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka, Nirupama Rao, to whom the complaint was ''look what they are doing, ma'am''

At least he could have waited till the next morning, when the High Commissioner would have had the benefit of some hours of sleep?

Poster-paster

A former Minister, who is said to have resuscitated the CWE in imagination but ruined it in fact, is plotting a poster blitzkrieg against the government which is said to be using all of the dirtiest tricks in the book to vilify the government. The man doesn't do fair trading, so who would expect him to do fair politics?

Ugh, it seems to have revolted even party insiders...even those who are not opposed to our man...such that can be found....
