Hotel Breeta's
Garden:
A tourist's paradise
by Beverley Jansz
Built on an overgreen tea plantation at Ginigathhena, on the
Colombo-Hatton higyway, is Hotel Breeta's Garden, which is said to be
one of the few hotels in the hill country to have a swimming pool.
Guests get a panoramic view of the cascading Aberdeen waterfall, and the
misty mountains which surround Breeta's Garden, while having a dip in
the beautiful swimming pool.
The hotel has five deluxe rooms which offer all the modern facilities
of a star class property, including attached bathrooms with hot/cold
water, piped music, telephone, a 24-hour room service and a private
balcony from which visitors get a breathtaking view of the beautiful
mountains and tea plantations.
The restaurant at the hotel serves the very best in Eastern, Western
and traditional Sri Lankan cuisine, prepared by expert chefs. A special
feature here is that the restaurant has been built in such a manner that
guests get a scenic view of waterfalls and sky-kissed mountains while
dining.

The hotel offers safaris to Adams Peak, Nuwara-Eliya which is only a
two-hour drive from the hotel, water rafting in the Kelani River, a
closer look at the mountains and other places of tourist interest in
close proximity to the hotel.
While at Breeta's Garden, I met Roland Kaan, the Manager of 'Glaxo
Smith Kine' (GSK) a leading Pharmaceutical company in Belgium. Roland
and his family are on their first visit here and highly impressed by the
beauty of Sri Lanka and the ever smiling people. They had selected
Breeta's Garden to spend a part of their vacation in Sri Lanka, due to
its scenic location, friendly staff and moderate cool climate.
Roland and his family who are leaving Sri Lanka tomorrow, take with
them unforgetable memories of their pleasant holiday. 'Sri Lanka is one
of the most beautiful countries we have ever visited. It has all the
potentials for tourism. We will certainly promote this 'Pearl of the
Indian Ocean' in Belgium' Roland said.
Hotel Breeta's Garden and the lush tea plantation on which the hotel
stands are owned by young Ajith Kumara Bandara who had worked in Germany
for over ten years to make his dream hotel a reality.
