Land Rover awarded 'Superbrand' status
Frontier Automotive, sole agents for Land Rover in Sri Lanka said
that Land Rover has been awarded 'Superbrand' status.
'Land Rover - Discovery 3 has just been awarded the 'Best 4 x 4 Off
Roader' for the second consecutive year", said CEO of Frontier
Automotives, Sheran Fernando.
In Sri Lanka, Frontier Automotive has had considerable success and
has captured an enviable segment of the SUV market, with Land Rover
becoming increasingly popular among a wide cross section of society. "We
have sold nearly 50 Discoveries", said Fernando.
The market had embraced the vehicle, and the Discovery 3 was now a
common sight on our roads. A range of age groups have purchased the
vehicle, stressing that its appeal cuts across gender, age and
profession. The one common attribute of all the customers who purchased
the vehicle is a strong idea of what they want, and an uncompromising
quest for The Best.
"After all this not the only award the Discovery 3 has under its
wheels. During its first model year the Discovery earned more than 20
industry awards, a record amount for any SUV in its introductory year.
To date it has accoumulated more that 78 awards worldwide making the
Discovery 3 the most awarded SUV to date".
According to CEO of Superbrands, Ruchi Goonewardene, the objective of
the Superbrands judging exercise was to recognise those brands which
have been successful in Sri Lanka by virtue of the strong emotional link
which they have built with their consumers.
"To elaborate further on the nomination criteria, a superbrand is a
brand that has established the finest reputation in its field. A
superbrand is one of an elite group of brands that are perceived as
having applied good branding practices which has led towards creating a
lasting bond with the Sri Lankan consumer", said Goonewardene.
