Three winners from AIS

The Asian International School had three winners in Sheran Rajapakse,
Ali Isphani and Lovisa Alexander in the free style events of the
selection trial to select the swimmers for the Triangular Meet to be
held in Chennai in November. The trials are being conducted by the Sri
Lanka Schools Aquatic Sports Federation at the Nalanda College swimming
pool.
Yesterday, Rajapakse timed 16.13 secs in the boys under-9, 25 metres
free style, Isphani ‘clocked’ 31.02 secs in 50 metres under-11 boys,
while Alexander returned a time of 31.61 secs in the girls under-19 also
50 metres.
The other free style winners are 25 metres girls under-9 - Ananda
Jayasekera (Musaeus) 16.67 secs, 50 metres free style Girls
under-11-Dilki Perera (Girls High School Kandy), 33.90 secs., 50 metres
free style boys under-13 - Pathum Edirisinghe (Ananda) 29.67 secs, in
the girls, Sindi Nanayakkara of St. Bridget’s Convent won it - (32.22
secs), 50 metres free style boys under-15 - Asabka Managoda (Ananda)
27.66 secs - in the girls Thilini Bandara (Mahamaya College Kandy) 32.22
secs. 50 metres free style boys under-17 - A. Nizamdeen (Lyceum
International) 28.16 secs girls - Charitha Deshini (Holy Cross College,
Gampaha) 32.01 secs. 50 metres free style boys under-19 - Dishan
Athuraliya (St. Joseph’s College) 26.95 secs.
According to Ms. Ranjani Fonseka, the Secretary of Sri Lanka Schools
Aquatic Sports Federation the swimmers to participate at the Triangular
Swimming Meet in Chennai in November will be selected according to the
performances of the trials.
