National School Games first stage Sept 9 to 11

National School Games first stage with II disciplines on the card will be worked off on September 9,10 and II at different venues. Over 4,000 schoolboys and schoolgirls representing all provinces will take part.

The annual event is organised and conducted by the Ministry of Education Sports and Physical Training.

The eleven events to be held are netball, karate, boxing, schoolboy body building contest, judo, tennis, swimming, basketball, elle, physical exercises and football. Netball will be played at National Education Centre Pattalagedera, (Minuwangoda), Karate at Maris Stella College Indoor Stadium, Negombo. Boxing events at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium.

The Schoolboy Body Building Contest at Isipathana Maha Vidyalaya. Judo at Judo headquarters near Sugathadasa Stadium. Tennis at SLTA Courts at Green Path. Swimming at Sugathadasa Stadium swimming pool.

Physical Exercise events at Maris Stella College Indoor Stadium. Basketball matches at Royal College, D.S. Senanayke College, Ananda College and St. Pauls Milagiriya courts.

Elle at Albert F. Peiris Stadium, Wennappuwa, Katuneriya Maha Vidyalaya, Katukenda Sangabodhi MV, Jayakoddy grounds at Dankotuwa.

Football matches at Maligapitiya grounds, Kurunegela, St. Anne’s College, Kurunegela, Maliyadeva Boys Vidyalaya at Kurunegela.
