Children's home needs help

The Vajira Sri Rehabilitation Children's Home at Pita Kotte which was affected by the recent floods is in dire need of dry rations, medicine and educational material its Executive Director Ven. Dr. Hunupolagama Vajira Sri Nayaka Thera said.

There are over 375 children belonging to all three communities and those who lost their parents during the terrorist attacks, take refuge at this centre since 1983.

The Thera said in a press release that the centre went under- water damaging the hostels, food stores and educational matters.

"We appeal for assistance from the public to restore the centre", the Ven. Thera said.
