Kandy Municipal Council honours SA Games medallists

Twenty-two sportsmen and sportswomen from Kandy who won medals at the SA Games will be felicitated by the Kandy Municipal Council today at the Town Hall. The function is scheduled to start at 4.30 p.m. with Mayor of Kandy L. B. Aluvihare as the chief guest.

Swimming: Chetiya Wijeratne and Heshan Unamboowe (Trinity), Miniruwani Samarakoon (Gateway), Hansanee Weeratunga (Mahamaya College).

Weightlifting: Ransilu Jayatilleke (Kingswood), P. K. N. Dayan (Dharmaraja), K. K. N. Asanga, P. Ranjith Kumara.

Table Tennis: Gihan Liyanage (Dharmaraja), Thilina Piyadasa (Vidyartha), Kalpani Herath (High School), Deepika Rodrigo (Mahamaya).

Badminton: Y. V. Dahanayake (Dharmaraja), Thilina Jayasinghe (High School)

Football: K. M. Nilanga Nalinda, Konara.

Boxing: Harsha Kumara and S. I. Kumara (Vidyartha).

Hockey: Kaminda Sumanaratna.

Athletics: P. A. Inoka, M. Ajantha, B. S. N. de Soysa.
