HP ships 100 millionth LaserJet Printer
HP shipped its 100 millionth LaserJet Printer, a significant industry
first milestone representing HP's history of quality, reliability and
innovation, a spokesman for the company said.
He said the Asia Pacific (excluding Japan) region is one of HP's
fastest growing markets for laser printers today, with a 21% CAGR from
1996 to 2005. In the first quarter of 2006, HP out-shipped its
competitors with four times more laser printers shipped than its closest
rival in the region according to the IDC Worldwide Quarterly Hardcopy
Peripherals Tracker, June 2006.
"We're thrilled by this achievement because it represents a very
strong endorsement from our customers all over the world," said Margaret
Ong, Vice President for Commercial Volume Business, Imaging and Printing
Group, Hewlett-Packard Asia Pacific. "The economy is clearly bullish in
the Asia Pacific and with business growing at a rapid pace, we are
committed to delivering the best and most effective printer solutions to
our customers in the region."
HP pioneered personal laser printing with the introduction in 1984 of
the first LaserJet printer. Since then, HP LaserJet printing solutions
have changed the way people conduct business, communicate in the office
and market products and services.
As a part of the celebrations in Sri Lanka, HP conducted a launch
event with key distributors, Premium business partners and business
partners at the Excel World in Colombo. |
