Formidable force in music

For the first time the Earls Regency in Kandy will be going all out to stage a gala New Year's Eve night for the family. And to assist, them on this extra special evening called the Regency Blitz will be the popular band Nalin and the Star Combination.

This prestigious hotel in the hill capital will be having a black and gold theme, additional music by DJ Outburst and the whole event compered by Adamally. Nalin and the Star Combination are today a formidable force in the music scene. Hailing from Moratuwa, the land synonymous with music, the group has been kept busy throughout this year playing for many weddings dances and corporate events.

A few weeks ago the outfit gave a rousing performance at the Kingswood College OBA Dance which was held at the Galadari Hotel. Their repetoire stretches from contemporary chart hits to the evergreens of yesteryear, to the ever popular baila, Sri Lankan pop and songs from the 60s to the 80s,quite naturally, since all the members are versatile instrumentalists and singers.

The band comprises Nalin Fernando - guitar/vocals, Shirmila Fonseka - vocals, Dilantha Silva - keyboards/vocals, Hiruksha Fernando - guitar/vocals and Gayan Weerakoon - congas/percussion. So get geared for the Regency Blitz.
