Netball quadrangular possible in January

NETBALL: Plans are under way to hold the first nation netball tournament in January at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium. The Netball Federation of Sri Lanka has already written to the netball authorities in India, Pakistan and Maldives. According to Ms. Rio Ramlan, Secretary, Netball Federation of Sri Lanka, India has already accepted the invitation and confirmed their participation.

The NFSL is hopeful that Pakistan and Maldives will also send their official confirmation by early December to enable the NFSL to fix the confirmed dates for the tournament. Most probably, the tournament will be played from January 19 to 21 and will be conducted on a league basis. The best two teams will clash in the final. The NFSL is also looking for sponsorship.

Ms. Ramlan added this tournament is likely to be an annual event with the other three countries taking their turn to conduct it.
