Mihin Air, a budget airway

"Mihin Air is a budget airway which will minimise the cost spent on air travel up to 50 per cent in the future," said the Minister of Mass Media and Information, Anura Priyadharshana Yapa.

Minister Yapa said that the Government has already taken the policy decision and cabinet approval has been granted for establishing Mihin Air as a government owned company.

This low cost airline will aim at providing affordable services to less affluent travellers, people leaving for overseas employment, particularly in the Gulf and West Asian countries and to promote regional tourism, said the minister.
