Floods wreak havoc:
Most of the flood victims in the Hambantota
District have returned to their homes as floods have subsided and
the roads are being cleared, said Director General, Disaster
Management Centre, Major General Gamini Hettiarachchi. He told the
Sunday Observer that there isn't a single camp in the Hambantota
district and all Internally Displaced Persons have returned to their
homes.

Restructuring BCC - No cabinet approval yet -Media Minister
The Cabinet has not yet granted approval for the
re-structuring of the BCC," Minister of Mass Media and Information
Anura Priyadharshana Yapa told the media. He said that though a
memorandum has been submitted to the Cabinet regarding the issue,
the cabinet is still considering the matter.

Rising egg prices, poultry meat hits industry
In November last, an egg retailed in Colombo at
Rs 8, while it is likely that its price will climb by 25 to 30 cents
in the next few months, Colombo wholesalers said.( Rupees 109 to a
US dollar) Supermarkets sell eggs at Rs 120 per pack of 12. Backed
by demand, quail eggs in packs of 10 sold at the Fort Railway
Station at Rs 5.50 last week.
