Dialog Telekom profit after tax up 44% to Rs. 10.12 b in 2006

Dialog Telekom Ltd, post consolidation with subsidiary performance, recorded a Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs. 10.12 billion for 2006, representing a robust year on year (YoY) PAT growth of 44 per cent.

Dialog Telekom and its subsidiaries (Dialog Broadband Networks (Pvt) Ltd and Asset Media (Pvt) Ltd) will be referred to collectively, as "the Group".

DTL referred to as "the Company" recorded a PAT of Rs. 10.05 billion. up 43 per cent relative to 2005.

For the year ended December 31, 2006, Group Revenue increased by 42 per cent to Rs. 25.68 billion vis a vis revenue reported for 2005. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) was recorded at Rs. 13.74 billion, representing a YoY growth of 46 per cent.

* Proposed Dividend to Shareholders In view of the Group's strong financial performance, the Board of Directors of Dialog Telekom, has resolved to propose a first and final Dividend amounting to 40% (payout) of 2006 earnings, which translates to 55 cents per share and is subject to the approval of the shareholders at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The recommended Dividend is exempt from tax in the hands of the shareholders. The dates of the AGM and the dividend payment will be notified in due course.
