Keeping your pet safe
Those of you with pets know that they need to be cared for and kept
safe. Animals in the wilds know how to take care of themselves and keep
safe from their enemies, but domesticated animals have lost this ability
during evolution and we must keep them safe.
Pets depend on their owners for protection and to keep them safe from
danger and diseases. Here are some tips to ensure the safety of your
pet:
* Make sure your pet sees the vet regularly and has its vaccinations.
Delayed vaccinations could prove to be very dangerous to your pet.
* Keep electric cords out of reach of your pet. An electric shock
could be fatal.
* Don't leave any medicines where your pet can get at them.
* Don't leave your pets alone in the house for long periods of time.
They could get scared and try to get out,
leaving serious messes and causing a lot of damage to your household
property.
* Make sure your pet has a quiet and comfortable place to retreat to.
* Treat your pet gently, with respect so it enjoys your company.
* Make sure your pet has plenty of shade and cool, clean water to
drink.
* Keep your pet away from plants. Some plants are poisonous, while
some could scratch and cause other injuries to pets.
* Leashes prevent accidents. Your pets, especially dogs, should be
kept on a leash whenever they are off your property.
Follow these tips and you can ensure that your pet is healthy and
safe. |
