Asiri laboratories offer modern facilities for research

The Asiri Group of Hospitals, a pioneer in Lab technology for over 22 years, has won "trust" with unstinting professionalism and long term dedication.

Since it is one of the oldest and best equipped laboratories in the country, Asiri Laboratories has many firsts and conducts many tests that are done nowhere else. Its popularity and promptness has grown consistently over the years to the point that other government and private hospitals regularly send samples to Asiri Laboratories for scrutiny.

The highly qualified staff of the lab has evolved a method to speedily inform doctors treating dangerously ill patients in other hospitals so that their timely intervention can save lives.

The Laboratory also occasionally goes beyond the call of duty and conducts test before payment for urgent cases. Consultant Physician Dr. Sriyantha Mendis with three decades of experience described the lab "as the main success at Asiri Hospital."

He said that in his long association with the Lab, he had observed numerous prompt and accurate tests being done and since external quality control is assured, Asiri Hospital's Laboratory "can be compared with any lab in the world."

Since its inception Asiri Laboratories have always concentrated on developing technology in line with the time, even when such machines could not return profits.

These trends have been maintained over the decades until Asiri Laboratories have become the only stop for people seeking genetic tests, which is still relatively new to Sri Lanka. In addition they hope to continue the tradition by introducing lead testing in the near future.
