Lions conduct programs on 'HIV/AIDS' drug abuse

Lions Clubs International (District 306 A) with Lions Club Dehiwela North conducted its annual awareness programe on Prevention of Drug Abuse and 'HIV/AIDS' for the benefit of school children in Kalutara District.

District Governor Lion Leelananda De Silva was the chief guest at the ceremony.

Dr. Sujatha Samarakoon delivered the keynote address on HIV/AIDS. Miss Dharshini Guniyangoda of the Sri Lanka Anti Narcotics Association (SLANA) and S. Wickremasinghe of the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) also addressed the gathering on 'Demand reduction and supply reduction of drug abuse'.

An oratory contest on 'HIV/AIDS' and a poster competition on Drug abuse were also held, In which Over 300 students from 30 schools participated at a competition held at the Kalutara District Secretariat. Winners received cash prizes with certificates.
