Sinhala New Year - a celebration of life
The sun's movement from Pisces to Aries is an
Astro/zodiacal belief and is not even remotely connected with
scientific reasoning. Infact it is we who move as the earth revolves
on its own axis. Yet the sun's movement from Pisces to Aries is
taken to be the cause for the celebration of the Sinhala and Tamil
new year. Such beliefs more importantly denote the psyche of that
particular ethnic whole.

Forces win hearts and battles in East
The Security Forces once again proved that they
can win battles under any condition and can also win the hearts of
the Tamil civilians with the completion of their mission in the East
taking full control of the Eastern population under them after
fighting a series of battles in the Eastern theatre.
