Quaint talks

S. B. Dissanayake

When I crossed over to the UNP along with another nine members in 2001 we toppled the coalition government led by Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga. I brought nine members from the SLFP to the UNP but Mangala Samaraweera's crossover to the UNP was not a well planned move, S. B. Dissanayake had told the media.

The timing of their crossover was not properly planned but I won't blame them because they had no time to do so. Because the President wanted to expel them from the Government. In this situation they had to protect their self-respect and they did it by making a sudden crossover to the opposition. However this move by Mangala Samaraweera has made the Opposition stronger.

Ravi Karunanayake

When they were in the Government then it was Mangala Samaraweera and Sripathi Sooriyaara-chchi who tried to destroy the UNP by propagating false stories against the UNP. The only thing what they did not tell Mahinda Rajapaksa was that he was not a "Bodisatwa" but now they admit that they have brought up a devil under the guise of Bodisatwa, the Colombo District MP Ravi Karunanayake had told the media.

In this regard they extended their public apology to the Leader of the Opposition Ranil Wickremesinghe and to the voters who had voted for this government. Whatever said and done Mangala Samaraweera was a very clever politician and now he has joined us to fight against this corrupt regime held by the brothers company.

Jeyaraj Fernandopulle

With the exposure of the conspiracy planned by the UNP with the help of the LTTE agent Charles Gnanakoone, the secret deal between the UNP and LTTE has come to light. He has pledged to grant one million US Dollars to an MP who votes against the government. What the LTTE wants is to topple the government to thwart the ongoing liberation operations in the North, Minister of Highways Jeyaraj Fernandopulle said. The crossover of Mangala Samaraweera and Sripathi Sooriyaarachchi to the UNP was also a part of this deal. A Tiger and a cub have now got together. It was the usual habit of the cub when its gets the scent of the tiger nobody can stop it and it moves into the jungle.

However much they love each other the two tigers cannot share one mountain. When a cub grows a little bit strong then it will fight against the bigger one and it will be a game where the mighty grows by sending the weakest into the political wilderness.
