Four for World Championships

Badminton: Four Sri Lankan shuttlers, including two Karunaratne brothers (Diluka and Dinuka) will represent the country at the 16th World Badminton Championships in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from August 13 to 19.

The two Karunaratne brothers are presently undergoing an one month training programme in Malaysia and will figure in the Men's Doubles.

Thilini Jayasinghe and Nadeesha Gayanthi will compete in the Women's Doubles with the Manager being Major M. M. S. Pieris.

Rohana de Silva, the only International Badminton Federation (IBF) recognised umpire in the country, will officiate at the World Championships. He is the Treasurer of the Sri Lanka Badminton Association (SLBA).
