O/L exam in Chennai for Lankan refugee students

Arrangements have been made to conduct the O/L examination in Chennai
for Sri Lankan refugee students who left the north due to the war
conditions. The O/L examination will be conducted at the Chennai
Christian College on December 9, the same day the students in Sri Lanka
will sit for their O/Ls.
One hundred and five Tamil students will sit the O/L examination for
the second time this month.
The O/L examination in Chennai this time is conducted on a request
madeby President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Admission cards for the O/L examination have already been sent to
Chennai. The students will be provided with the postal IDs. The
co-ordination will be done by Sri Lanka's High Commission in Tamil Nadu
together with the Department of Examinations and Refugee Rehabilitation
Centre in Chennai.
A ceremony will be held at the Sri Lanka High Commission in Chennai
on December 7 to hand over the admission cards to refugee students.
The Director of Education in Chennai, Kutraleeswaran and Sri Lanka's
Deputy High Commissioner in Chennai, P. M. Hamza will be present on the
occasion. Arrangements are also being made to send the O/L examination
papers to the Chennai Examination centre.
He also said special preparatory classes were held for the refugee
students in Chennai by trained teachers specially sent to Chennai under
the guidance of the Sri Lanka High Commission in Chennai. |
