Violence against women - a social scourge
The 16 Day Action Plan has been named out
throughout the globe with the aim of rasing awareness on violence
against women and children. Over 3000 organizations have carried out
the action plan in 130 countries. The programme was organized by
International Movement against All Forms of Discrimination and
Racism led by Human Rights lawyer Nimalka Fernando, in Colombo.

solve Tamil problem - S.D. Bandaranayake
In 1956 on the eve of the formation of a
Government, Bandaranayake posed two questions to Prime Minister
S.W.R.D Bandaranaike. The first was to unit the parties in the
Parliament and form a Government and the second to absorb people who
speak Sinhala and Tamil into the administrative structure.
