Mercantile 'stickers' on tour in Malaysia
HOCKEY: The Mercantile Hockey Association will celebrate their
Golden Jubilee year with a foreign tour to Perak and Penang, Malaysia
from December 6 to 17.
The Mercantile team is quite a versatile team with four
Internationals, three former Internationals, seven Mercantile caps and
seven freshers. There are three officials who are all ex-Internationals
and the coach too has enough experience as he is one of the Sri Lankan
coaches.
The opening match on the tour is on December 7 against Kuala Kangsar
District H. A. at Sultam Azlan Shah Stadium and on Saturday 8th December
the Mercantile 'stickers' play against Ipoh City Council at the same
venue.
The other matches are: December 9: Vs Royal Malaysian Navy at Limut
and on December 10th match against Kinta District H. A. On Tuesday 11th
December there is a match against Ipoh City H. A. and on December 12,
the Mercantile team play against Perak H. A. President's XI. December 13
will be a rest day and on Friday 14th December, the Panang S.C. will
play against the Mercantile.
Then the Mercantile team will put out three teams for the Penang
six-a-side hockey tournament on December 15 and 16 and that ends the
tour. |
