Illustrious Thomians felicitate teachers

A group of Thomians of Wardens Davidson, Selvaratnam and
Anandanayagam eras of S. Thomas' College, Mount Lavinia organised a
ceremony at the Sasakawa Hall last week.
Renowned personalities who studied at S. Thomas' College who
represent the various strata of Sri Lankan Society holding high posts
expressed gratitude to their school teachers at the felicitation dinner.
All except two, teachers belonging to the DSA era of the college were
present.
Prof. G. L. Peiris, Minister of Export Development and International
Trade said that he was able to develop his linguistic skills because of
the training given by the teachers.
Dr. David Ponnaiah, Arisen Ahubudu, Koperaheva and B. K. Mandawala
who were on the teaching staff of the S. Thomas College also spoke.
A participant said the present trend of the society is to forget the
elders.
Keserralal Gunasekera, Sriyan Jayasekera, Rear Admiral G. S. de
Silva, the organisers of the event should be commended, he said.
