Asian Body Building in height categories in Sri Lanka

BODY BUILDING: The dates for the inaugural Asian Men's Classic to be worked out in three height categories has been confirmed from December 1 to 6 next year (2008) and will be conducted by the Interim Committee of the Sri Lanka Body Building Federation at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) or the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium.

Chairman of the Interim Committee of the SLBBF, Jeff Schucroft, told the Sunday Observer that the three height categories will be Upto and including 170 cm (maximum weight 72 kg), Up to and including 178 cm (maximum weight 82 kg) and Over 178 cm (maximum weight of 90 kg).Over 350 musclemen from 30 countries will compete for honours, including those from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, Chinese Taipei, Mongolia, Afghanistan, Kazakhastan, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Iran, Iraq, Bahrain, Kuwait, Turkey, Nepal, Brunei and Macau.

The Asian Men's Open Senior Body Building Championship as well as the Asian Men's Open Masters Body Building Championship too is to be worked off concurrently. (L.G.).
