Of late, you may have heard and read a lot about MiG aircraft. Did you wonder what these MiG aircraft are?

The MiG aircraft are produced in the Ukraine, which is one of the most powerful fighter jets manufacturers in the world today. Mikou Gruevich was the person who designed these MiG aircraft. With the passage of time, these aircrft made rapid progress. MiG 27 Flogger is one of the members of this Mig family.

In late 1970, MiG 27 fighter jets entered service with the Russian Air Force. It is one of the more powerful, yet not necessarily swift, fighter aircraft.

The MiG 27 Flogger is used for ground attacks and can cause massive damage to ground targets. This single seat fighter jet is very useful for ground wars and small air battles.

It is armed with one internal GSH-23L, 23mm twin barrel cannon, S8 (80mm) rocket pods, bombelt dispensers, freefall bombs up to 500kgs, UPK-23250 cannon pods, and podded reconnaissance sensors. The freefall 500kgs bombs are the main armour of the MiG 27 fighter jet.

The S8 rocket pod can fire up to a range of 2000m.The MiG 27's powerful turbo jet engine enables it to reach a maximum speed of 1170 mph and a height of up to 14000m.

This fighter jet can transport a maximum exterior weapons load of 4000kgs, which runs the length and height of this fighter aircraft. MiG 27(D), MiG 27(J), MiG 27(K), MiG 27(M), MiG 27(MD), MiG 27(MLA) are the variants of MiG 27 fighter aircraft.

This enormous aircraft can fly a distance of up to 21000 kms at a stretch.India, Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine are the main operators of the MiG 27 Flogger. The Sri Lanka Air Force also operates these mighty machines.
