Inspiring Youth

The one who leads the way to prosperity...:

Name: M.R.Fauzul Hameed

Profession: Managing Director, Hameedia

Motto in life: To be honest, help others and lead a peaceful life.

In the business sector what are the challenges youth are faced with?

The youth are under stress due to various factors. They need to have a balance. It’s better they talk to successful people and share their experience to overcome the pressures in life.

If a youth is interested of stepping into the field of business, what are the basics they should know?

Basic education and also one should be smart enough to select the line they could master themselves in.

As a leading business personality, how would you influence the youth of Sri Lanka?

I have always been interested to support the youth in Sri Lanka. Through my profession I always motivate them to achieve their goals. I think that’s part of my responsibility for the youth and country as a whole.

In terms of a professional business personality, explain the difference between selling and marketing?

‘Selling’ and ‘Marketing’ are almost connected. To sell anything one needs a good product, if the product is good then capturing the market is not a hard task. I advise the youth to develop their products first and then face your competitors which is not a big deal.

What are the requirements for a local youth businessman or a woman to rise up to international level?

Exposure: one need to go out but should be ready to take up the challenges. It’s pointless you to be in a dark room and hide yourself without getting to realise your goals. Experience is the second basic thing one should go through with to be a successful business personality. I think the personality counts a lot for the youth to win the world.
