Lanka to hold trade exhibition in Chennai
Sri Lanka's Deputy High Commission in Chennai in collaboration with
the Ministry of Export Development and International Trade and the
Ministry of Enterprise
Development and Investment Promotion will hold a trade exhibition at
Hotel "Taj Coramendal" in Chennai from October 24 - 26.
The Trade Fair is organised with the objective of introducing new
products and services to the Indian market, to support the Sri Lankan
companies to get consolidated in the Indian market, to promote Sri Lanka
as a tourist destination, to identify new potential areas and to promote
the image of Sri Lanka.
It was proposed to organise this solo country event with at least 40
to 45 Sri Lankan companies. This will include manufacturers/exporters
from various product sectors, and also service sectors such as banks,
logistic companies, travel and tourism industry, hotels and airlines.
A publicity program to attract importers and other business visitors
for products and services on display during this fair will be conducted
by the Deputy High Commission of Sri Lanka in India. The attendees for
this fair would also include policy makers, bureaucrats, manufacturers
and consumers.
The exhibition will include a fashion show with models showcasing the
Gems, Jewellery and garments of Sri Lanka, entertainment through the
dance troupe and other performers from Sri Lanka, speeches by key
officials, and video presentation of various tourism spots in Sri Lanka. |
