Sri Lanka Air Force secured the open division men's and women's team
championship at the National Practical Shooting Championship 2008 worked
off at the Sri Lanka Army Commando Regiment Range, Ganemulla recently.
Lt. Col. Janaka Ritigahapola (Rtd) of Sri Lanka Army, and Sgt. Inoka
Weerasinghe of Sri Lanka Air Force emerged men's and women's individual
championship at the four-day meet conducted by the National Rifle
Association of Sri Lanka (NRASL) in association with the International
Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) of Sri Lanka. Four of the
shooters including Ritigahapola and Weerasinghe have been picked to
represent Sri Lanka at the IPSC World Championship to be worked off in
Bali, Indonesia next month. The National IPSC team is coached by Capt
Sarath de Zoysa (Rtd.).
