Sampath Bank, the technology savvy bank in Sri Lanka will launch
"mobile cash", the safest and easiest way to transfer money within the
next few weeks.
The operations will be displayed at the Sampath stall at Infotel
Lanka exhibition which will be opened on October 30 at the BMICH, said
Head of Enterprise IT Solutions, Sampath Bank PLC Mangala P.
Wickramasinghe.
All what you need to enjoy this facility is a mobile phone or a CDMA
phone which has the facility to send an SMS.
He said that you don't need any pre registration or SIM card change
to use this service. Money can be sent via a Sampath branch, Telebanking,
Sampath Net (internet banking) and can be received through an ATM
branch, POS network or you can even debit your credit card and send
money through mobile cash.
Ordering food also can be done by sending the exact bill amount
through mobile cash without exposing the credit card number to unknown
people.
Wickramasinghe said that at the 2007 best quality software awards
conducted by the British Computer Society (BCS) the gold award for the
best innovative software in financial sector was won by Sampath Bank
mobile cash.
Sampath Bank will also showcase Sampath Vishwa, the cyber branch. He
said that though all banks provide internet banking banks still have not
been able to reduce the number of customers patronising the banks due to
the inability of banks to provide a majority of the banking services
through internet.
By using Sampath Vishwa a customer can perform an end to end
transaction through the internet.
It is very popular among professionals employed in the middle East. |
