Alumex brings a wood finish to Aluminium Extrusions
Alumex (Pvt) Ltd, a market leader in Sri Lanka's Aluminium Extrusion
business, has introduced 'wood finish' and polished anodising to its
aluminium extrusions.
Director Marketing, Alumex (Pvt) Ltd Mrs Nadira William said that
with this new innovative process, an authentic timber effect such as
Teak, Mahogany or Rosewood can be given to the surfaces of extrusion
products, such as aluminium doors and windows.
"The wood finish is totally new to Sri Lanka. Apart from satisfying
the consumers' desire for an attractive wood finish, the polished
anodising will, in turn, offer a brilliant finish to anodised
extrusions, providing an elegant look to modern buildings and thus
brightening the streets of Sri Lanka', William said. By capturing the
housing and building construction market in Sri Lanka to a great extent,
this new and revolutionary feature will also have a great impact on
saving the forests of this country, she said.
Incorporated in 1986, Alumex began its commercial operations in 1988.
Alumex has a factory at Makola, equipped with the state-of-the-art
machinery and a manufacturing staff of over 450 employees with a
capacity to produce over 600 metric tonnes a month. Offering consumers
an environmentally friendly alternative to wooden doors and windows,
Alumex specialises in the production and design of aluminium extrusions,
powder coating and anodising.
Its distribution operations are undertaken through a very
comprehensive dealer network, established in all major cities and towns
